Authors Against Book Bans
We, a collation of writers, illustrators, anthology editors and contributors, and other book creators, stand united against the deeply unconstitutional movement to limit the freedom to read. We unequivocally support the availability of diverse voices on our library shelves, in our schools, and in our culture. We pledge to band together against the oppression of literature, to speak when our voices are silenced, to go where our bodies are needed, and to fight as one to ensure this freedom. Together, we will be fearless.
R(ev)ise and Shine!
I’m delighted to announce that I have partnered with my good friends Rob Costello, Jennifer Richard Jacobson, and Jo Knowles to create a new writing venture we’re calling R(ev)ise and Shine!
At R(ev)ise and Shine! we will offer a full suite of revision and editorial services, plus a writer-focused online book club, writing retreats, a newsletter, and online educational and community-building opportunities.
Our Mission is to create a fun, safe, welcoming, and diverse community of writers in a space that allows for encouragement, support, inspiration, and collective joy. We are here to share our love of writing craft, to explore and expand creativity, and to grow as writers and members of a writing community.
Our focus is not on the business of writing (though certainly participation helps guide you on your selected path). Instead, we welcome you to bring your open, vulnerable, artful selves. Come and share your thoughts, questions, and breakthroughs—no matter where you might be on your writing journey.
